Love's Flip Side

Love is a beautiful thing
It depends on the part you see
Love hurts maybe
It also depends on the part you see
But the actual truth is
Love is both

How do you love a soul that doesn’t love you as much?
How do you cherish a person who doesn’t see you in the same light and may never do?
How do you explain that love which you know to be lovely can be so hurting?

Yes, you can make someone know you feel for them,
But you can never make them feel the same.
Because love is a choice, beyond the feelings,
And they own a right to their choices as much as you do yours.
What doesn’t make so much sense,
Is you dying for someone who doesn’t care.
You pausing your life in the name of pleasing another.
That doesn’t make sense.

Do you know it is okay to cut your loses?
Do you know it is okay to cry and let be?
But do you also know that you deserve to be loved likewise,
And that there is someone, somewhere just right for you?

Child, be bold and strong
Cut the ties if you have to
Redefine your stand if you need to
The one who caused you this much pain knowingly or unknowingly
Doesn’t deserve so much grip on you.

Don’t let out your frustration on them,
It is not their fault, truthfully.
Don’t let your frustration on yourself too,
It isn’t your fault either.
You only want to love and be loved,
How is that a crime?

You also know how much it took God to win your heart,
You know how many times you shut the door on Him.
You know how many times you disappointed Him.
You know how many times you cheated on Him.
But this case is different right?
You are not God.
And you shouldn’t play God.

Why not take the time to reconnect with yourself?
Reconnect with the real you.
Just love up on yourself and celebrate the person you are.
Take the evening strolls alone,
Reconnect with your values.

Be grateful for your little and big wins
Re-evaluate your relationships
Celebrate those who truly care
That circle of people who have always loved you for who you are
Make new friendships too
What is life without friends?

Love makes us vulnerable right?
Sometimes it hurts,
But that’s the beauty of it.
To love means to choose to be hurt,
It is however more beautiful than hatred.
To be vulnerable means to choose to be disappointed,
It is however better than being stone hearted.

Let your interaction with everyone,
Be that of a true and genuine love,
And not because you expect something in return.
But of equal importance,
Let your interaction with your inner self be that of a true and much love.
You can only express love to others accurately to the degree you love yourself.

Now to the one of highest importance,
Love up on God like never before,
He is love, and He loves you most.
Without Him, your definition and perspective of love will always be thwarted.
Love up on God, He loves you more than you can ever reciprocate to Him.
